These products are made of wood from sustainable Cornish woodlands. It is cut during winter months as the wood is denser before the sap has risen, this means it is less susceptible to rotting and contraction as it dries and minimizes disturbance to wildlife. Hazel is slower growing and longer lasting than other wood that could be used, such as willow. The removal of carefully selected branches is beneficial to the trees and helps preserve the native woodland.
